Ingredients
1
15.25 oz box white or vanilla cake mix
½
cup
unsalted butter
melted
2
large eggs
1
teaspoon
vanilla extract
¼
cup
holiday sprinkles
red and green
Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prep
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup a breeze.
Step 2: Make the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Mix with a wooden spoon or spatula until a soft dough forms.
Gently fold in the holiday sprinkles, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
Step 3: Shape the Cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls with your hands.
Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie to allow for spreading.
Step 4: Bake the Cookies
Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear soft but will firm up as they cool.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 5: Add Festive Finishing Touches
If desired, dust the cooled cookies with powdered sugar for an extra festive touch.
Notes
Mix It Up
: Try red velvet, chocolate, or spice cake mix for a new flavor variation.
Don’t Overbake
: These cookies are best when slightly underbaked for a soft, chewy texture.
Add Flair
: Stir in white chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, or dried cranberries for extra holiday pizzazz.
Chill the Dough
: If your dough feels sticky, refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes before rolling.
