Ingredients

  • 1 pack ramen noodles discard seasoning packet
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Noodles

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions (usually about 3-4 minutes). Drain the noodles and set them aside temporarily.

Step 2: Make the Cheese Sauce

  • In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine. Let the mixture warm through for about a minute, but don’t let it boil.

Step 3: Add the Cheese and Noodles

  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce. Once the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth, return the cooked noodles to the pot. Toss the noodles in the cheese sauce until fully coated and creamy.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

  • Transfer the cheesy ramen noodles to a bowl and serve immediately. For extra flair, sprinkle with crushed red pepper for a spicy kick or chopped scallions for a fresh pop of flavor.

Notes

  • Use Freshly Shredded Cheese: Pre-shredded cheese often contains anti-caking agents that can prevent smooth melting. Shredding your own cheese ensures the sauce is silky and creamy.
  • Add Protein: Toss in cooked chicken, bacon bits, or a fried egg for added protein and heartiness.
  • Boost the Flavor: Mix in a dash of hot sauce, a splash of Worcestershire sauce, or a sprinkle of paprika for added depth.
  • Include Veggies: Stir in steamed broccoli, peas, or spinach for a more balanced meal.
