Ingredients

  • 8 oz noodles spaghetti or rice noodles
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha or to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup green onions chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Noodles

  • Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Make the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, and Sriracha. Adjust the amount of Sriracha based on your preferred level of heat.

Step 3: Sauté the Garlic

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant and slightly golden.

Step 4: Combine the Noodles and Sauce

  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the garlic. Pour the sauce over the noodles and toss well to coat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the noodles are heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

  • Transfer the noodles to serving bowls and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Enjoy your spicy, flavorful noodles!

Notes

  • Adjust the Heat: Add more or less Sriracha to match your heat preference. You can also drizzle extra Sriracha on top for an added kick.
  • Add Protein or Vegetables: To make this dish heartier, add cooked shrimp, chicken, or tofu. Vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas also work well.
  • Noodle Options: While spaghetti and rice noodles work perfectly, you can use other noodles like soba or ramen if desired.
