½lbbeefthinly sliced (sirloin or flank steak works well)
1tablespoonhoisin sauce
2clovesgarlicminced
¼cupcarrotsjulienned
For the Sauce (Optional):
2tablespoonsoy sauce
1tablespoonoyster sauce
1teaspoonsesame oil
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Noodles
Boil the lo mein noodles in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Toss the cooked noodles with a splash of sesame oil to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Prepare the Beef
In a medium bowl, toss the sliced beef with the hoisin sauce and let it marinate while you prep the vegetables.
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil and sear the beef in batches, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the julienned carrots and cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly softened.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, being careful not to burn it.
Step 4: Combine the Ingredients
Return the cooked beef to the skillet, along with the noodles.
Add the optional sauce (soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil) if you want to enhance the flavor. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through.
Step 5: Serve and Garnish
Transfer the noodles to serving bowls and garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy the bold, garlicky goodness!
Notes
Slice Beef Thinly: Cutting the beef against the grain into thin slices ensures it stays tender and cooks quickly.
Prep Ahead: Have all your ingredients prepped and ready to go since the cooking process moves fast.
Use High Heat: A hot skillet helps sear the beef and veggies, giving them that delicious, caramelized flavor.
Customize Vegetables: Add bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas to make the dish even more
