Ingredients

For the Brownie Bread:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

For the Hot Fudge Swirl:

  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce warmed slightly

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare the Pan

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Mix the Wet Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract until fully combined.

Step 3: Combine the Dry Ingredients

  • Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Stir gently until just combined—do not overmix!

Step 4: Fold in Chocolate Chips

  • Fold in chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed in the batter.

Step 5: Layer the Batter & Hot Fudge

  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Drizzle warmed hot fudge sauce over the batter, swirling slightly with a knife.
  • Top with the remaining brownie batter, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Step 6: Bake the Brownie Bread

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 7: Slice & Serve!

  • Slice the warm brownie bread and enjoy it as-is, or warm it up and serve with vanilla ice cream for the ultimate dessert experience!

Notes

  1. For Ultra-Fudgy Texture: Slightly underbake the bread and allow it to finish setting as it cools.
  2. Hot Fudge Alternatives: If you don’t have hot fudge, you can melt chocolate chips with a splash of heavy cream for a similar effect.
  3. Add More Chocolate: Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top before baking for an extra chocolate boost.
  4. Want a Coffee Kick? Add 1 teaspoon of espresso powder to the batter for a richer, deeper chocolate flavor.
  5. Mix-Ins: Try adding walnuts, pecans, or peanut butter chips for extra texture and flavor!
