- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 packs ramen noodles discard seasoning
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger minced
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
Step 1: Brown the Beef
In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
Step 2: Add Aromatics and Sauces
Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pot with the beef, stirring for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Then, add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth. Stir well to combine and let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes to develop the flavors.
Step 3: Cook the Noodles
Add the ramen noodles to the pot, pressing them down into the liquid. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the noodles are tender, stirring occasionally to ensure they are evenly coated in the sauce.
Step 4: Garnish and Serve
- Adjust the Sweetness: Feel free to reduce the brown sugar if you prefer a less sweet sauce.
- Add Vegetables: For extra nutrition, try adding sliced bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas to the pot when you add the ramen noodles.
- Soy Sauce Options: Low-sodium soy sauce works well in this recipe to keep the dish from becoming too salty.
